The Cursed Alpha’s Mute Bride Episode 21

The Cursed Alpha’s Mute Bride – Episode 21

The Temple of the First Moon collapsed inward. Stone groaned beneath the mountain, ancient pillars broke apart, and silver lightning split the storm above the ruins as the Moonstone released centuries of stored power. Each flash illuminated carvings that had not seen the open sky since the first Wolfhart Alpha ruled.

At the center of the underground chamber, Wren changed. Her body floated within spiraling moonlight while the white gem disappeared beneath her skin, settling over her heart like a second pulse.

The wolf inside her was no longer a shadow or memory. It rose behind her in a towering spectral form, silver-white fur streaming in a wind that touched nothing else. Twin moonlit eyes surveyed the chamber through Wren’s own awakened gaze.

Her human shape flickered. Claws extended, fangs sharpened, and her spine arched as bones learned a form Gertrude had denied them for years. The remaining fragments of the first seal cracked beneath the strain.

Pain swept through Wren, but she did not resist. Her wolf met her inside it, sharing instinct and strength. Together they accepted a transformation that should have belonged to her long ago.

Hunter fought across the splitting floor toward her. Blood streaked one cheek, his torn armor carried the dust of broken Sentinels, and cursed energy raged around him as falling stone blocked every path.

“Wren!” Her name broke from him with enough force to reach through the Moonstone storm. The spectral wolf turned toward the sound before Wren’s human eyes did.

Recognition moved through the mate bond, primal and immediate. Hunter did not see a monster replacing the woman he knew. He felt the hidden half of his mate finally claiming space in the world.

Clay shouted through the fractured passage above. “Alpha, the entire temple is coming down. We have to reach open ground now!” His warriors strained against a fallen beam, keeping the only exit from collapsing.

Hunter barely heard him. A slab of the ceiling crashed between him and Wren. He shattered it with cursed power and leaped through the debris, defying the mountain one step at a time.

“Hold on,” he growled. “I am coming.” His promise reached Wren through the bond even when thunder swallowed the words.

The last black chain inside her soul pulled tight. Wren saw the storage room, the engagement hall, and Gertrude’s satisfied face each time another wolf called her useless. Those memories had been links in the prison.

Her wolf lunged against the chain. Wren lunged with it, no longer separating the woman from the beast. The bond between them became the force Gertrude’s ritual had never anticipated.

A scream escaped Wren—not one of pain, but release. It rose into a howl as the final chain of the first seal shattered. A shock wave of silver energy blasted across the chamber and turned falling rubble to dust.

For the first time in her life, Wren stood on four legs. She was massive, dark silver along her back and luminous at the chest, with eyes that carried the cold radiance of twin moons.

Her paws struck ancient stone. Every scent arrived with astonishing clarity: rain far above, blood on Hunter’s skin, fear from the warriors, and the burned-metal trace of forbidden magic. The world had never felt so wide.

THE MOON RECOGNIZES ITS TRUE HEIR, the temple declared. Carved wolves along the chamber walls lowered their heads as if bowing to her presence.

Wren’s consciousness expanded with the Moonstone’s light. Visions returned, no longer fragmented. She saw Gertrude kneeling before the masked Elders and offering the black stone in exchange for control of the Eclipse Pack.

The ritual had never been intended merely to silence a child. The Elders had feared the prophecy and Wren’s mature Alpha blood. “If the Wolfhart heir awakens,” one warned, “she will surpass every ruling bloodline.”

Another voice answered, “Then she must never reach maturity with wolf and will united.” Gertrude accepted the task because their fear offered her the power she craved.

Fury steadied Wren rather than consuming her. All her life she had mistaken their rejection for proof that she was deficient. The truth was the opposite: they had crippled her because they feared what she would become.

Hunter reached the center of the chamber as another wall collapsed. He stopped when Wren’s full wolf turned toward him, her shoulders nearly level with his chest.

For one heartbeat, even the feared Alpha stood motionless. Wren sensed his awe through the bond, followed by a flash of concern that she might no longer recognize him.

Hunter slowly lowered himself to one knee. He did not bow as Alpha to heir or master to beast. He made himself vulnerable before his mate and let her decide the distance between them.

“I do not care what form you wear,” he said. “I chose you beside the creek, before I knew your blood or power. I still choose you.”

The truth of his words steadied the magic raging through Wren. She stepped closer and lowered her great head until her brow touched his. Silver light flowed around Hunter’s darkness without extinguishing it.

The mate bond stabilized. Her wolf recognized him and accepted the choice Wren had already begun to make as a woman. Hunter pressed one hand into the fur at her neck, relief shaking through him.

The Moonstone’s setting was gone, and the first seal had fallen, but traces of black magic remained coiled deep inside Wren. Freedom had begun; it was not yet complete.

Above them, the passage gave way. Clay called one final warning as the chamber tilted. Hunter rose beside Wren, and together they raced toward the light while the old temple bowed into ruin behind its returned heir.

Far away, Gertrude felt the first seal collapse through the cracked stone at her throat. The ritual scar on her palm reopened, and terror replaced disbelief. The heir she had tried to erase had been reborn—and Wren was coming for the life stolen from her.
