The Alpha Queen Returns Episode 13

The Alpha Queen Returns – Episode 13

The banquet hall seemed to contract around Jessica. Her golden eyes remained fixed on Rex Russo, and the pressure of her aura made crystal glasses tremble across the tables. Nobles who commanded armies stood perfectly still, afraid that even a careless breath might draw her attention.

Rex’s legs shook, but confusion briefly outweighed fear. He had seen this woman in plain clothes, smelling of woodland herbs and begging no one for respect. “Who are you?” he stammered.

General Sarabeth answered by dropping to one knee. Mina and every Royal Guard followed, armor striking the floor in a single thunderous wave. Ansel bowed beside them, then Alpha Hunter and every Council official lowered themselves before the woman Rex had called a worthless healer.

“Your Majesty,” they declared together.

The title exploded through what remained of the Russos’ certainty. Melissa stumbled against a table, shaking her head. “That’s impossible. Jessica is only a village healer.”

Reva’s face turned white beneath her cosmetics. She remembered every insult directed at Jessica, every threat made in her name, and the billion dollars her family had stolen. “The healer is the Alpha Queen?”

Caroline stared at her mother with equal disbelief. The strongest Alphas in the kingdom knelt before the woman who had bandaged village children and cooked soup over the clinic stove. Jessica had hidden an entire crown behind the gentle life Caroline knew. Confusion flickered beside her relief: if her mother possessed such power, why had Caroline spent years believing Rex could kill her?

“Mom?” The word carried wonder, hurt, and a thousand questions.

Jessica turned away from the Russos. Fury left her eyes the moment she faced Caroline, replaced by a tenderness so raw that several soldiers lowered their gazes. She brushed a tangled strand of hair from the bruise on her daughter’s cheek. “I’m sorry,” she whispered. “I thought I was protecting you. I failed.”

Caroline’s last defenses broke. She threw herself into Jessica’s arms and sobbed against the cold royal armor. Jessica held her with desperate care, as if the child might vanish if her grip loosened. “I’m here now. No one will ever hurt you again.”

Even battle-hardened wolves remained bowed before the reunion. Sarabeth watched Jessica cradle the daughter she had nearly lost, knowing the Queen would carry guilt long after Caroline’s wounds healed.

Rex’s mind raced toward survival. If Jessica heard every detail, no title or alliance could protect his family. He dropped to his knees. “Your Majesty, please. This is a terrible misunderstanding.”

Melissa knelt beside him. “We treated Caroline as our own child. Any discipline was meant to help her. We loved her.” Reva covered her face and produced loud, frightened tears.

Caroline flinched at the word loved. Jessica felt the movement and slowly looked over her shoulder. Whatever softness her daughter had awakened turned to ice. “Family?”

She faced Rex without releasing Caroline. “You threatened to murder me if she spoke.” Rex’s mouth opened, but no denial emerged beneath the Queen’s stare.

Jessica’s attention moved to Melissa. “You accepted my fortune while starving my daughter and using her as a servant.” Then she looked at Reva. “You humiliated her, struck her, and taught her to believe she was worthless.”

Each accusation stripped away another layer of their performance. Melissa trembled. Reva’s fake sobs became real, while Rex searched the crowd for a single sympathetic face and found none.

“The evidence,” Jessica ordered.

Sarabeth rose and nodded to Mina. A recording crystal illuminated the hall, projecting Caroline’s hidden life above the banquet tables. Guests watched Reva force her to scrub the floor, heard Rex threaten Jessica’s life, and saw Melissa demand money while pretending to provide a loving home.

No private cruelty remained private. Every lie, bruise, and act of humiliation played before the people whose approval the Russos valued most. Servants who had accompanied noble households covered their mouths, recognizing the silence forced upon the Russo staff. When the images faded, revulsion moved through the hall like a cold wind.

Alpha Hunter turned toward Rex. “You lied to me.” His voice was quiet, but his wolf aura surged around him. “You tried to hand me an abused, drugged child and call it a gift.”

“My lord, I can explain.” Rex lifted both hands. “I believed she wanted—”

Hunter struck him before the lie was finished. Bone cracked beneath the blow, and Rex crashed through a banquet table, scattering silver dishes across the floor. “If Sarabeth had not arrived, you would have made me part of your crime.”

Rex lay amid broken wood, coughing blood and pleading. Jessica did not look at him. She had found older bruises beneath Caroline’s sleeves and pale scars crossing her wrists. Each mark was a history her daughter had endured alone.

Jessica took Caroline’s hands between her own. “I’m taking you home.”

Hope appeared cautiously in Caroline’s tear-filled eyes. “Really?”

“Home,” Jessica promised. “The place where you belong. With me.” Caroline nodded and leaned into her, trusting the answer despite every promise adults had broken before.

A Royal Guard rushed into the hall before Jessica could carry her away. He dropped to one knee. “Your Majesty, scouts report that Killian Darkmoon is gathering rogue armies. His agents know the Russo alliance has been exposed.”

The hall fell silent as the soldier continued. “Darkmoon has declared war on every pack that refuses to submit. Coordinated forces are already moving toward the borders.” The nobles exchanged alarmed looks; several had left their strongest warriors at home, never imagining a welcome banquet would become the opening night of war. Sarabeth took Caroline gently when Jessica asked her to protect the princess, swearing to do so with her life.

Jessica faced the nobles, her golden aura rising until the chandeliers swayed. “The traitors in this hall will face judgment. As for Killian Darkmoon, I will finish the war he has chosen.” The frightened healer who had hidden from her crown was gone. Before the united packs stood their Alpha Queen, and this time she would end the threat once and for all.
