The Cursed Alpha’s Mute Bride Episode 19

The Cursed Alpha’s Mute Bride – Episode 19

The Temple of the First Moon was no longer silent. Ancient stone screamed beneath the force rising from its hidden chamber, and silver light poured through every crack in the courtyard.

Wren floated above the altar, suspended between her human body and the immense wolf awakening inside her. The curse mark fractured farther, releasing a howl that no ear could hear but that shook her to the soul.

She opened her eyes. Their familiar gray had become luminous silver, bright enough to reflect across the chamber walls. The fear inside her had not vanished, but it no longer stood alone. Her wolf shared its courage freely, asking only that Wren stop mistaking survival for weakness.

Moonstone energy circled her like a crown. Wren looked down at hands that had stopped trembling. Strength pulsed beneath her skin, unfamiliar yet as intimate as a heartbeat.

Her fingernails lengthened into black claws, sharp enough to catch the silver light. They remained for one startled breath before retreating. Behind her, the shadow of a tail flickered against the altar.

Wren could feel her wolf clearly now. It was not a monster placed inside her by forbidden magic, nor a distant blessing that had failed to arrive. It had waited through every year of silence for her to find the cage. Memories of unexplained warmth during her loneliest nights suddenly made sense; even chained, the wolf had tried to comfort her.

Above, Hunter faced the last Sentinel between him and the fractured opening. The guardian’s rune-eyes blazed as it drew power from the collapsing gate, rebuilding the arm Hunter had nearly torn away.

“Move!” Hunter’s voice thundered through the ruins. When the creature refused, his curse exploded outward in waves that shattered every remaining window of the temple.

Clay struggled to remain standing. “Alpha, the core is collapsing. If you break the final barrier without controlling that power, you may destroy the chamber beneath us.”

“Then find another way to hold the roof.” Hunter’s gaze never left the silver abyss. “She is still inside.”

He drove both hands into the Sentinel’s chest. Darkness met the guardian’s moonlit core, and the opposing magic convulsed through the courtyard. The stone body burst apart from within. Shards tore Hunter’s coat and cut his cheek, but he did not pause long enough to feel them.

The sealed gate cracked down the center. Hunter struck once more, tearing open a path as the temple shed slabs of carved stone around him. Clay ordered the warriors to brace the remaining pillars.

Hunter reached the edge of the glowing descent and jumped. He fell through silver light, following the mate bond toward the only presence that could still call the man inside his curse.

He landed hard in the underground chamber. Stone fractured beneath one knee, and dust rolled outward from the impact. Then he lifted his head and saw Wren.

Everything stopped. She hovered before the Moonstone, surrounded by a phantom wolf larger than any natural beast. Neither fully human nor fully shifted, she looked like moonlight learning how to take flesh. Hunter’s curse, raging only seconds earlier, went quiet beneath the awakened wolf’s steady gaze.

“Wren.” His voice softened. The curse recoiled, abruptly aware that its violence had entered something sacred.

The mate bond erupted between them. Silver energy met Hunter’s darkness and flowed through it rather than fighting. For one impossible moment, both curses became quiet.

Wren turned toward him. Her lips parted, and the broken seal around her throat resisted with a final twist of pain. She pressed through it, reaching for the name that had carried safety to her in the forest. “Hunter.”

The whisper was rough and barely audible, but it crossed the chamber. Wren’s hand flew to her throat. Tears filled her glowing eyes as the sound’s echo returned from the stone.

Hunter stared as though the temple had placed the Moon itself in his hands. The beast inside him withdrew another step. He had heard armies shout his name with fear, but nothing had ever broken him open like Wren’s fragile voice. It proved that Gertrude’s magic could bleed, fracture, and eventually die.

She tried to speak again, yet the curse tightened. Hunter reached her as the moonlit force released her body, catching her before her feet touched the floor.

The Moonstone cracked above them. The ancient voice rolled through the chamber: THE SEAL IS BREAKING, BUT THE TRUTH MUST BE REVEALED.

Visions struck Wren with brutal clarity. Gertrude knelt inside a circle of blood-red runes. Hooded Elders held a child in place while the smoky stone drank light from the Wolfhart crest. The ritual chamber lay beneath Wolfhart Castle, hidden close to the home where Wren had spent years searching for answers.

Gertrude’s younger face twisted with terror as she spoke the binding words. “If the Wolfhart heir awakens her wolf, the curse will consume everything.” Then she pressed the stone against Wren’s collarbone.

Wren staggered within Hunter’s arms. The memory proved what the healer had seen and what Wren had always known. Gertrude had deliberately stolen her voice and wolf.

“Gertrude did this.” Hunter’s voice turned deadly. It was not a question anymore. It was a promise that the truth would reach every wolf she had deceived.

The vision faded, but another detail remained: Gertrude had not stood alone. Several forbidden Elders formed the ritual circle, their faces concealed behind masks bearing a symbol Wren did not recognize.

The mate bond pulsed again, stronger and deeper after Wren’s first spoken word. Her awakened wolf reached toward Hunter’s cursed beast, and it answered with wary recognition. Where their magic touched, the chamber’s silver light briefly turned gold, revealing a harmony neither curse had been designed to survive.

They had both been shaped into weapons by powers hidden in the past. As the temple shook around them, Wren understood that the world had not tried to erase two separate curses—it had feared what might happen when the cursed Alpha and the Wolfhart heir finally stood together.
