The entire mansion froze the moment the prosecutor pointed his weapon at Dorian.
“Get the car,” the elegant older woman ordered coldly, fury burning in her eyes. “I want to see what kind of woman thinks she’s worthy of my son.”
But before anyone could move, Prosecutor Steve stepped forward, gun raised.
“Dorian Kensington,” he barked. “I’m placing you under suspicion for impersonating a mafia leader, illegal firearm possession, and aggravated assault. Drop your weapons and get on your knees!”
The room fell silent.
Everyone expected Dorian to panic.
Instead… he ignored the gun completely.
His eyes were only on Serena.
Blood stained her sleeve, and the moment he saw her trembling, his entire expression darkened.
“You’re hurt,” he said softly, pulling her into his arms. “I’m getting you out of here.”
But Steve blocked the exit immediately.
“You think you’re leaving?” he snapped. “Neither of you walks out tonight! Men—cuff them and drag them to the station!”
Armed officers rushed forward.
Then Dorian slowly turned around.
His cold gaze alone made the entire room stop breathing.
“A district attorney thinks he can point a gun at me?” he said quietly. “Looks like this city’s corruption runs deeper than I thought.”
The temperature in the room dropped instantly.
Even the officers hesitated.
But Lola completely lost control.
After everything she had done… Serena was STILL being protected.
“WHY?!” she screamed hysterically. “Why does this bitch always survive?!”
Her face twisted with hatred as she grabbed a weapon and lunged forward.
“If I can’t have my life back—then she dies with me!”
“Go to hell, you filthy bastards!”
The blade flashed toward Serena—
“DORIAN!”
And in that split second…
everything exploded into chaos.
